Adam, mother Eve [Haw wa’a] (PBUT) their children and Iblees [Satan the accursed]
In the beginning of life and after Allah (swt) had created everything, he created Adam (PBUH). Once Adam (PBUH) was created, Allah (swt) commanded all Angels to prostrate for him. This is mentioned in Quran 2:34
“And [mention] when We said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam”; so they prostrated, except for Iblees [Satan]. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.”
Keep in mind that Iblees [Satan] was never an angel. He is from the Jin kind. All angels are made of light and he [Satan] was made of fire]. While all angels did what Allah (swt) had commanded them to do, Satan didn’t.
Adam (PBUH) was living alone and enjoying what is good in Jannah [Heaven]. One time while Adam was sleeping, Allah created Haw Wa’a [Eve in English]. When Adam woke up, he saw this new and beautiful creature before him and wondered! what or who it was. He then approached and spoke to her, he found out that it was Haw wa’a [Eve] and that Allah had made her from his [Adam’s] rib while he was sleeping. Allah (swt) told Adam and Haw wa’a [Eve] to live and eat whatever they wanted except for one tree. As it is outlined in Quran 2:35
And We [Allah] said, “O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers.”Adam and Hawwa’a (PBUT) lived and enjoyed everything inJannah [Heaven] and stayed away from that tree just like Allah (swt) had commanded them. Meanwhile, Satan was angry and plotting on how to get Adam and Hawwa’a (PBUT) out ofJannah. as it’s mentioned in the holy Quran 20:116
And [mention] when We said to the angels, “Prostrate to Adam,” and they prostrated, except Iblees; he refused. So We said, “O Adam, indeed this is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let him not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer. Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed. And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun.” Then Satan whispered to him; he said, “O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?” And Adam and his wife ate of it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred.
In another verse, Quran 7:22
So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, “Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?”
Adam and Haw wa’a (PBUT) were both kicked out of heaven and sent down to live on earth. They descended to earth in different places until they met near or on a mountain. Because they met there, the mountain was named ‘Arafaat’
Adam and Haw wa’a [Eve] (PBUT) spent their time glorifying the name of Allah and worshiping him. They came together as man and wife and began to build earth and farm it.
Satan kept trying to whisper to them and have them commit sins, but he was unable to make them slip again. They were both good servants of Allah and wanted to make up for their mistake which they committed in heaven.
Satan is never in a hurry and can wait for someone for a long time to have them sin. This was exactly his plan and he followed it. He waited until Adam and Haw wa’a (PBUT) had children and started to whisper to them when they were old enough to understand.
Everytime Haw wa’a (PBUH) gave birth, she had twins. A boy and a girl. It was later the decision of Allah (swt) that her children marry one another. However, they had to follow one rule. The son and daughter that were born together, can not marry each other. Satan whispered to Qabeel [Cain the son of Adam] and made him very jealous and angry. They both went to mother Eve [Haw wa’a] and presented their case. Qabeel [Cain] demanded to marry his own twin and didn’t accept anything else. Habeel [Abel] said “I’ll accept whatever my father [Adam PBUH] decides.
Allah (swt) inspired Adam (PBUH) and taught him how to solve this issue.
He [Adam PBUH] explained to both of his sons that, they are both to offer a sacrifice to the Almighty Allah on top of a mountain. Allah (swt) will then send a fire down and eat the sacrifice which he favors. In other words, if the fire eats the sacrifice of Qabeel [Cain], he will marry his twin. If it ate the Sacrifice of Habeel [Abel] then Qabeel [Cain] will not marry his twin and everything remains as it was originally ordained.
They both [Habeel and Qabeel – Abel and Cain] chose their sacrifices and began walking up the mountain to present their offering to the Almighty Allah (swt). Habeel [Abel] had chosen a very fat and beautiful sheep to present it to Allah (swt). Qabeel [Cain] had plucked / harvested some dry straws and took them to be his offering.
They both put their offering down, shortly after that, a fire descended from the sky and took Habeel’s [Abel’s] offering and left the dry straws there. This was a clear sign from the Almighty Allah (swt) to both of them that Habeel [Abel] is to marry Qabeel’s [Cain’s] twin.
Satan whispered to Qabeel [Cain] and he was fueled with rage and hatred towards his brother. He confronted his brother and told him that he was going to kill him. Habeel [Abel] replied “If you try to kill me, I won’t try to kill you.” They each married the sister they were suppose to marry and had children, until one day, Qabeel [Cain] had the perfect chance to kill his brother and he took it. He killed his brother (Some say with a donkey jaw and some say with a rock) He killed him and was immediately filled with guilt and regret.
Habeel’s Body was there for a while because Qabeel didn’t know what he was suppose to do with it! Until Allah (swt) sent him a a couple of crows, they fought until one of them died. The living crow began digging a hole and buried the dead one. Qabeel [Cain] was feeling worthless because he never thought of this. He then began digging a grave and buried his own brother there.
The story is mentioned in the holy Quran in Chapter 5 verses 27-31:
And recite to them the story of Adam’s two sons, in truth, when they both offered a sacrifice [to Allah ], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], “I will surely kill you.” Said [the former], “Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him]. If you should raise your hand against me to kill me – I shall not raise my hand against you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allah , Lord of the worlds. Indeed I want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers.”And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers. Then Allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, “O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?” And he became of the regretful.
Mother Haw wa’a [Eve PBUH) lived a long life. She helped her children raise their children and taught them what’s right. Adam [PBUH] died and it was Mother Haw wa’a and her children and grandchildren for a while until she passed away too.
