Was Jesus really crucified?

As Salamo Alaikom Wa Rahmatullahi Wa barakatuh.

May peace, mercy and blessings of the Almighty God be upon all of you.

Getting straight to the topic.

In the Quran Allah (swt) says:

And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but it was appeared so to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And for sure, they killed him NOT!

We Muslims believe it without a doubt, but our brothers in the Christian faith, don’t take the Quran to be the word of God.

So, we’re now forced to prove to them from the holy Bible that Christ never died, nor was he crucified.

If anyone makes any claim in any place, taking their word for it isn’t good enough. They need to have proof. Allah commands us to ask people for their proof whenever anyone makes any claims about anything. And they have produced it, the holy Bible is now written in more than 2000 languages.

In these bibles, there is a whole chapter that speaks about this topic and in most bibles, it says The Resurrection of Christ in the heading.

This chapter is 1 Corinthians 15

We read in;

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

WAS-JESUS-CRUCIFIED-575-X-5 (1)

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

He then tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:14

And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

So basically, if someone can prove that Christ was not resurrected, then the faith and the teachings of Christianity is all in vain and pointless. This is according to St. Paul, not Muslims.

He then poses a rhetorical questions in 1 Corinthians 15:35 and says

But some man will say, how are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?

And in the following verses, he gives a very detailed answer to his own question. He says,

1 Corinthians 15:42-44

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

There is no easier way to put it. It is a clear cut statement that we will be like ghosts when we are resurrected according to the Holy Bible.

Now, St. Paul was simply saying what Jesus had already said in the gospel of Luke.

As we know, the Jews were always testing and plotting for Jesus to catch him in a lie or prove that he was an imposter or to prove to the people that he was a false prophet.

For example, they would come up to him and say;

Mark 12:14

And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

John 8:4

They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

Master this and master that, they were always trying to put him to the test hoping to find someone on him.

Now, they’ve come to him with a new riddle. Again, they wanted to see if he truly was sent by God. They tell him the story of the woman that had 7 husbands. She was married to one, he died and they had no children, so she married the next brother then the next and so on. This is all acceptable in the Jewish law. Since the husband died and he left no children, it is ok for his brother to marry her. So, this woman had married 7 brothers and had no children from any of them.

Now, they’re asking him, who will be married to her there? [In the afterlife]. Because, if you had her here, you want to have her there. It makes sense!!

So, he answered them and said in Luke 20:36

Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels [spirit bodies] ; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

So here, Jesus is saying that we will all be spirits when we are resurrected from the dead. It is a clear statement from the Holy Bible.

Now, let’s see if the bible confirms or conflicts the statement of Jesus and Paul.

After the alleged crucifixion of Christ [I say alleged because we Muslims believe that Jesus never died nor was he crucified].

We read in Luke 24:36

36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

When this happened, they were terrified to see him again because they thought he was a spirit.

37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

The questions here is very simple; why did they think he was a spirit? Did he look like a spirit? The answer is NO!  But they were thinking that because they had heard that he was killed and been buried for 3 days already. They didn’t see it by their own eyes when he was killed, they had heard it. Because in mark 14:50, it says ‘’they all forsook him and fled’’ They were not eyewitnesses to the event.

So Jesus here wanted to assure them that it was HE IN THE FLESH and that he was not a SPIRITUAL BODY So he said,

38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

He knew they were thinking that he was supposed to be a spirit. So he wanted to assure them that he was NOT A SPIRIT and that it is he in the flesh (ALIVE), so he said,

39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

So, they felt him and checked everything with their own hands and eyes. They touched him and knew that he really was Christ in the flesh!! (ALIVE) NOT RESURRECTED

Because he knew them well, and because they still showed signs of wonder and weren’t sure that it really was him, he asked them if they had anything to meat.

41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

The fact that Jesus ate in front of them alone proves a different point which I intend to make in a different subject [Is/Was Jesus really God] but more on that later.

So, he took the fish and honeycomb and he ate in front of them. Now I ask you this;

·         Why was he showing them his body and wanted them to touch it?

·         Why did he eat in front of them?

·         Was he trying to prove to them that he was resurrected, or prove to them that he was Alive and that he never died?

The answer is very clear to those that think for themselves, and not just blindly follow what the church tells them. As if they were sheep or something!!

It is clear that Jesus was informing them that he was (ALIVE) NOT RESURRECTED and he never died.

He showed them the injuries, they touched his flesh and he ate in front of them, he did all of this to prove to them that he was ALIVE not that was RESURRECTED.

We know by now that Resurrected bodies are spiritualized, they are like ghosts or angels. Who said this?? Paul did. Who else? Jesus did.

After the alleged crucifixion of Jesus, every time he came to people, the word in EVERY VERSION of your Holy Bibles is (ALIVE) there isn’t a single Bible that says he was RESURRECTED. But the church teaches you that he was resurrected. Because it serves their needs.

The more people they get to join their congregation, the better it is for them. And the story of someone dying for your sins is so easy to sell to anyone.

You can go ahead and do anything you want, someone else has already paid for your sins!!

What Logic is this????? If anything, this shows that God is an unjust god for killing such a wonderful person for the sins of a worthless generation. God is showing us here that he is thirsty for blood and that he is so needy, that’s why he killed Jesus.

This is all according to the teachings of the Church of course. We as Muslims, don’t buy a single word of this.

Now, let go for more proof.

By now, we know how demanding the Jews were and how they were always coming to Jesus and asking him for signs and miracles. As if Jesus had nothing better to do than to please them. And no matter what Jesus did, or how many sick he healed or how many times he gave life back to the dead (By God’s permission), they still didn’t believe him!!! This is the sickness of the Jews. They did this with Moses, they did it with the following prophets and they did it with Jesus.  Amazing people these Jews!!! They want everyone to dance for them just so they are happy and pleased.

Now, they came back and they want Jesus to perform more miracles and give them more signs just so they are happy. So, we read in

Matthew 12:38-40   38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

After everything he had done for them, they still wanted more signs (Miracles)!!! Now Jesus started calling them names here and putting them down by saying;

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

The story of Jonas

1 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.

4 But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

5 Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.

6 So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

7 And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.

8 Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?

9 And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.

10 Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him. Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.

11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.

12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.

13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.

14 Wherefore they cried unto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man’s life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee.

15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.

16 Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord, and made vows.

17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

2 Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly,

2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

There is more to the story of Jonah, but we’ve reached the point to which Jesus was referring

So, to summarize the story of Jonas and the miracle he was prepared to give them, I will put it in simple words just like the rest of this document/post.

Forget all the miracles Jesus did, forget allllll of them. And we Muslims have no problem accepting all the miracles Jesus did,

·         Healing the sick

·         Healing the leper

·         Giving sight to the blind

·         Enabling that man to walk after he was brought in on a carpet

·         And of course he gave life to the dead. All in God’s permission.

·         We Muslims believe that he spoke when he was a few days old as well.

So, like I said, forget all the above signs. Jesus told them, I will give you no sign, The only sign you will get, is the sign of Jonas,

For as Jonas was THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the belly of the fish,

So shall the son of man [Jesus] be THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the heart of the EARTH.

Jesus here is putting all his eggs in one basket as we would say.

So here, Jesus said, I WILL BE JUST LIKE JONAS when he was in the belly of the fish or the whale, name it whatever you want it doesn’t matter. Let us now examine the condition of Jonas when he was thrown overboard.

How was Jonas when he was thrown off of the ship? Dead or alive? ALIVE

How was he when the fish swallowed him? Dead or alive? ALIVE

In the sea for THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS Jonas was praying from inside the belly of the fish. Do dead people pray? No! So, how was Jonas when he was praying from inside the belly of the fish? Dead or alive? ALIVE

How was Jonas when he was vomited on the shore? Dead or alive? ALIVE

Now, it doesn’t matter who you ask of the Christian faith, but when you ask them how was Jesus when he was in the sepulcher? They will all say he was DEAD

Now, Jesus said he will be JUST LIKE JONAS when he was in the belly of the fish.

How was Jonas in the belly of the fish? ALIVE and how was Jesus in the sepulcher according to the Church? DEAD Jesus said he will be LIKE JONAS and now you are saying that he was

UNLIKE JONAS. So, we Muslims must ask here. Who is telling the truth? The Church, or Jesus?

Jesus is saying something, and the church is saying something else. It is up to you now to decide who is telling the truth. Go to your church and ask them to give you a logical answer on this particular questions and see if they’ll convince you or just give you nonsensical answer.

Remember, Jesus is saying something, and the church is saying something else here.

Some people may say, no no no, Jesus was emphasizing THE TIME FACTOR!!! Even though it won’t help your case, but let’s take that theory as well.

When you ask the Christians, when was Jesus Crucified? What day was it? They’ll all say, on ‘Good Friday’ in my country, they call it ‘Great Friday’ Now, regardless of the name, all Christians agree on this one thing. And when you ask a Christian ‘’what makes Good Friday so good’’?  They’ll all say ‘’because that’s when Jesus died for our sins’’

Was it morning or afternoon when he died? They say it was in the afternoon.

How long was he on the cross? Some say ‘’3 hours’’ and some will say ‘’6 hours’’ but it’s ok, we won’t argue there.

The Jews were told in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 21 verse 23

His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
So, because the next day begins at sunset, and because Jews didn’t want their land be cursed by God, they were in a hurry to put him on the cross, and in a hurry to bring him down because of the Sabbath.

So, they brought him down, gave him a burial bath and put winding cloth around him and they put him in the sepulcher [big roomy chamber].

So now, by YOUR STORY IN YOUR SCRIPTURE, it should have already been evening! Correct?

So, now let’s analyze the TIME FACTOR as well.

FRIDAY NIGHT he is SUPPOSE TO BE in the sepulcher.

SATURDAY DAY he is SUPPOSE TO BE in the sepulcher.

SATURDAY NIGHT he is SUPPOSE TO BE in the sepulcher

SUNDAY MORNING, the tomb was empty!!! So this one doesn’t count.

Let’s remember again what Jesus has said,

he said ‘’for AS JONAS was THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the belly of the fish, so shall the son of man be THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS in the heart of the earth.’’

Look at these nights and days and tell ask yourself, does this match what Jesus had said? DOES IT? No!, of course it doesn’t. So here, the church has managed to make this mighty messenger of God sound like a liar YET AGAIN!!!! He told the Jews that he will be just like Jonas, and he has so far failed to deliver at least TWICE!!!

The Jews had him killed because they thought he was an impostor and that he wasn’t the real Messiah. If I were a Jew and had my doubts after we had killed him, I would have felt better once I knew he couldn’t deliver this one miracle he said he would. He said ‘‘the only sign that I will give you, is the sign of Jonas’’ and he failed to do that twice!!! That’s according to your book, not mine.

My book tells me he was the real Messiah and I do accept him as such. I am not a true Muslims if I don’t accept Jesus as the Messiah.

The Christian faith has been in trouble for a while now. Many Christians stopped believing in the Holy Bible and that Jesus was the son of God. The trinity, the death on the cross and all of that.

An America TV channel carried out a survey and that stated (more than half of England’s Anglican Bishops say that ‘’Christians are NOT OBLIGED to believe that Jesus was God’’

Was that so hard? This is one of the fundamental differences between the Muslim and Christian faith. We say ‘’Jesus was not the son of nor was he God’’ and you say ‘’He was and is’’

More than %50 of the Anglican Bishops now are telling their congregation that ‘’you don’t have to believe Jesus Christ was God’’ It is as simple as that. That means you can be a Muslim now!!!

The dividing line is removed. What is holding you back? Salvation? You need to earn it. Nothing is handed out. And again, it makes absolutely no sense for God to kill an innocent man for my sins and yours. It just DOESN’T!!!

The Holy Quran say in 5:72

They have certainly disbelieved [engaged in the act of blasphemy] who say, “Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary” while the Messiah has said, “O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.” Indeed, he who associates others with Allah – Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.

Our brothers of the Anglican Bishops faith have extended their hand to us. They are one step closer to Islam, we should take that hand and embrace them for their courage and finally seeing the true light and path of God.

The empty tomb

Back to the topic, we know that on Sunday morning when it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and found it empty. She called upon the other two disciples to come and see, one reached there before the other and both ended up going in and they found the winding cloth unwrapped and was put aside. The place where Jesus was laid was empty. They departed and left Mary Magdalene there. She looked inside and saw two angels dressed in white in one at the head and one at the feet of the place where Jesus was laid.

Then she looked back and saw a man standing in front of her and she didn’t know it was Jesus so here, Jesus began talking to her and said ‘’Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for? So, she thought he was the gardener, asked him and said ‘’Sir, if you have taken him somewhere, please tell me where have you buried him or put him so I go and take him away’’ Here, we must ask ourselves ‘’Why did she think of him as the gardener? Do resurrected bodies look like gardeners?’’ Of course not!!!

But this is how he was dressed. He was disguised as a gardener so the Jews wouldn’t recognize him if they saw him again. And why would it matter if they saw him or not? Didn’t he say that once we die, we don’t die again? If he truly was resurrected like the church claims, why would he be afraid? Isn’t he supposed to be a spirit now? This is another proof that Jesus was not resurrected.

Here, Jesus talked to her in a tone that she would recognize and said ‘’Mary’’ She knew that tone!!! She knew it was Jesus so she said ‘’Rabboni’’!!! this means Master!!! And wanted to jump and hug him because she was so happy to see him again. But, Jesus said to her ‘’TOUCH ME NOT’’ Now, I want to ask a question here, why did he not want her to touch him? The answer is very simple. He was still in pain from all the whips he had taken on Friday. And the wounds he sustained before he was put on the cross. Had she touched him, she would have hurt his body.

So, he said, ‘’touch me not, because I haven’t gone unto my father yet!!!!

Here is the same dialogue that happened but from the King James Version.

14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

My dear brothers and sister, there are a lot of evidence that prove the exact opposite of what the church teaches you. I personally do not know why they teach you these wrong things nor do I want to know to be honest. What I do care about is YOU. You are my brothers and sister and I want you to see the truth. I would like you all to read the Bible and understand it BY YOURSELF without anyone influencing your understanding. And read it from cover to cover. Don’t say ‘’I only follow the New Testament because I am a Christian not a Jew. Jesus himself said the he didn’t come to destroy not cancel the laws before him. He came to fulfill. Anyone that breaks one of the commandments or teaches other to do so, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. And anyone that teaches these commandments and lives by them, shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. And in no way will you ever enter heaven unless you follow all the teachings in the Old Testament.

This is said in Matthew 5

17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

I hope everyone reading this now has seen where the truth is. You need to be the judge of what you’ve just read. Go ahead and verify every single letter you read in on here. Check it up with your church and ask them why they’re not being truthful to you.

I would like to end this by saying, thank you for reading this and I hope that you’re more familiar with your scripture now. If you think for one second that I was playing tricks on you or just being mean to you, then you have your Holy Bible. Open and READ IT!!! I always tell people that. READ YOU BIBLE!!! And decide for yourself.

I ask the Allah (swt) [The Almighty God] to bring us all closer to one another and reunite our faiths.  For it is all one message from one God delivered by different messengers.

I would like to thank the IPCI for giving me permission to reproduce their material.

This work was based on a debate between the late Great Ahmad Deedat and professor Floyd Clark on the topic ‘Was Christ Crucified’ We ask the Almighty Allah to grant Ahmed Deedat Jannah [Heaven] for this amazing work that is clearly was very time consuming to prepare and not to forget our brothers at the IPCI for the permission to use the material.
