WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT MOHAMMED

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT MOHAMMED

As Salaam O Alaikom.

The below lines are taken from a lecture of the late great ‘Ahmad Deedat’ May Allah’s Mercy be on his soul. Amen.

In this lecture ‘What Bible says about Mohammed’ Ahmad Deedat goes to explain how and where our prophet is mentioned in the Bible.

In the old testament of the Holy Bible while God was talking to the holy prophet Moses (PBUH)

In Deuteronomy

18:18 ”I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”

The above verse is among many verses in the holy Bible that speak about the coming of another prophet. If you show this verse to any Christian priest or any religious Christian person and ask them ”To whom is this verse referring?” They will say without hesitation ”Jesus”.  If you ask them ”Why is it referring to Jesus? ” They’ll simply tell you that Jesus is a prophet like Moses, Jesus was a Jew like Moses and he was from among the children of Israel Like Moses (PBUT)

Keep in mind that the verse is random one and DOSE NOT give a name, location of birth or any details that can be used as solid grounds to say with certainty that this verse actually is referring to Jesus. YET, our Christian brothers say that it refers to Jesus (PBUH). Christians reason with this verse in particular and say that IT DOES refer to Jesus.

Now, why can’t we do the same and reason with the verse and see if it fits our holy prophet Mohammed (PBUH) or not.  Once again, the verse says

”I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”

In the next bullet points we will see why this verse refers to Mohammed (PBUH) and not Jesus (PBUH).

If being a Jew and being a prophet are the only two standards for finding a candidate for that prophecy, then it will fit every Jewish prophet that came after Moses (PBUH) [David, Solomon, Ezekiel, Elisha, Elijah, Zechariah…..].  So, why does this verse not fit any other prophet? The few [of many] prophets written above all fulfill the two standards. They were all Jews and were also prophets!! Why Jesus and not any of the above?

Here are 3 great reasons why Jesus is not like Moses (PBUT).

According to Christian beliefs
Jesus is God incarnated in the form of human. Moses is not God.

Jesus died for the sins of the world. Moses did not die for anyone’s sins.

Jesus went to hell for three days. Moses didn’t go to hell.
Therefore, Jesus is NOT like Moses.

NOTE:

We as Muslims believe that all prophets were sinless and came to us with a divine message from God (Allah) Swt. This is simply to say what the Christians believe.

Now, let’s see why Jesus is not like Moses and why Mohammed is.

Moses (PBUH) had a father and a mother. As did our prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
Jesus was born miraculously to a Virgin Mary.

Matthew 1:18
”……….but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.”

Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses, but Mohammed is Like Moses.

Moses and Mohammed (PBUT) both got married and had children before they died. Jesus (PBUH) never married anyone.

Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses, but Mohammed is Like Moses.

Moses and Mohammed (PBUT) were both accepted as prophets in their life time. Never mind all the trouble they gave each of them and the hardships they had to go through, but they were both accepted at the end as prophets.
The Jews did not receive Jesus Christ as a prophet and they killed him (According to Christians).

John 1:11 ”He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”

Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses, but Mohammed is Like Moses.

Moses and Mohammed (PBUT) were both prophets and RULERS / KINGS [had the power of life or death over their people].
For example, in the case of Moses (PBUH), he had power of life or death over his people.

The person that was working on the ‘Sabbath’ was stoned to death as God commanded Moses in the book of numbers 15:35-36

35 Then the LORD said to Moses, “The man shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.”36 So all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the LORD had commanded Moses”
And in the case of prophet Mohammed (PBUH), we have the case of that adulteress woman that was pregnant. She was stoned after gave birth and breastfed her child.

But when Romans were questioning Jesus Christ after they had arrested him, the asked him ”if he was the king of the Jews”, He answered and said, ”That’s what you say” and later on he (Jesus) said ” My Kingdom is not from this world”
John 18:36.

Moses and Mohammed (PBUT) both had a spiritual and a material kingdom. Jesus (PBUH) only had a spiritual kingdom. He was only a prophet. Not a KING

Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses, but Mohammed is Like Moses.

Moses and Mohammed (PBUT) both brought new laws and new regulations for their people.

Jesus clearly says in Matthew 5:17-19

”17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

18 For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven”

Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses, but Mohammed is Like Moses.

Moses and Muhammed (PBUT) both died natural deaths. But according to the Christians, they think that Jesus was violently killed on the cross.
Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses, but Mohammed is Like Moses.

Moses and Mohammed (PBUT) were both buried in the ground after they died.
But according to the Christians, Jesus is resting on the right hand side of God the father.

Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses, but Mohammed is Like Moses.

so far, we have been proving is 1 phrase ‘Like unto thee’ or just like you [O Moses].

The prophecy says that God will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren…. Not from among themselves!!!

Who are the brethren of the Jews?

As we all know, Abraham had two sons. Isaac and Ishmael.

The children of Israel are all descendants of Isaac.

The Arabs are all descendants of Ishmael.
This makes The Arabs and Israelis cousins, if not brothers!

_____________________________________________________________________________

the other part of the prophecy speaks about God putting his words into the mouth of this prophet.

The Holy Quran was revealed to prophet Mohammed (PBUH) through Angel Gabriel. He came down to the Beloved prophet and commanded him to ”READ!!!”……. The beloved prophet was terrified and said ” I am not learned!!” He then repeated himself and said ”READ!!!” Our prophet gave the same reply…… ”I am not learned!!” He then commanded him a third time and said ”Read in the name of thy lord who created” He [Mohammed] then knew that he was supposed to repeat/recite.

The first 5 verses of the Quran were revealed in that time. And they were

”Recite in the name of your Lord who created –

Created man from a clinging substance. Recite,

And your Lord is the most Generous –

Who taught by the pen -Taught man that which he knew not’’ Quran 96:1-5

our beloved prophet had no idea that by him saying ”I am not Learned” he was fulfilling another biblical prophecy TO THE LETTER.

Isaiah 29:12 ’’And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.”

Now, let’s see why the Quran is God’s word….

The Almighty God, knew that Man will misinterpret this verse just like they have others. Therefore, God is threatening anyone that is reading his verses and making himself very very clear in the very next verse.

‘It shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him”

Deuteronomy 18:19

The Holy Quran consist of 114 chapters. Out of which, 113 chapters begin with Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem….

[In the name of Allah most gracious most Merciful]

[In the name of Allah most gracious most Merciful]

[In the name of Allah most gracious most Merciful]

[In the name of Allah most gracious most Merciful]

[In the name of Allah most gracious most Merciful]

[In the name of Allah most gracious most Merciful]

This goes to show us that, these two verses speak of no one BUT the holy prophet Mohammed (Peace and blessings of Allah SWT be upon him).

This concludes our topic. I hope that it was easy to read and follow. I would like to take this chance and thank the great brothers and sisters at the IPCI for giving me permission to reproduce their material. May God Almighty pour his blessings down upon them and have mercy on the late great Ahmed Deedat and reward him with paradise for all the amazing work he had done.

Dear brothers and sisters, please share this work with your friends and family so they know the truth or maybe, someone can bring better argument and show us what’s right or wrong. And as always, I advise my Christian brothers and sisters to read their Bible.
